What it does

The useful parts, plainly

Cuts the fluff

Removes vague marketing terms and surfaces the numbers that affect real-world use.

Weights what matters

Battery, repairability and longevity get ranked above headline megapixels and logos.

No affiliate bias

There are no affiliate links in the comparison logic, so nothing is nudging the verdict.

A short walkthrough of Honest Spec in action.

Honest Spec came out of frustration with comparison sites that bury the useful numbers under SEO filler and affiliate buttons. This tool does one thing: line up two products and tell you, plainly, where they actually differ in ways you’ll feel.

How to try it

  1. Paste or search two products.
  2. Pick what you care about most — battery, repairability, performance.
  3. Read the side-by-side, with marketing terms stripped out.

It won’t tell you which one you’ll love. It’ll tell you which one is objectively better at the things you said mattered — and leave the rest to you.

The honest bit — costs & limits

  • It's only as good as the spec data it can find — obscure products may come back incomplete.
  • It judges specs, not joy. A camera's 'feel' or a laptop's keyboard won't show up here.
  • Verdicts are opinionated by design. Disagree, and you probably know your priorities better than it does.
